Inventory Control Accounting Internship

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Intern role will carry a combination of accountant level responsibilities and administrative work for the Retail Inventory Control Departments within Enterprise Accounting Operations. The position will report directly to the Manager, Inventory Control.

• Develop an understanding of inventory accounting, balance sheet account reconciliations, and related journal entries to the general ledger
• Review of expense transactions exceeding established thresholds
• Report and reconcile store physical inventory transactions and provide analysis on trends as needed
• Review and process inventory transactions and shipments; Identifying and resolving discrepancies in order to appropriately relieve inventory and recognize sales
• Create metric reporting and analyze for trends as well as ensure transactions are processed timely and accurately
• Support Ad-Hoc team projects as needed
• May include attendance at Store Physical Inventories with the Retail Inventory team

• Pursuing an Undergraduate degree preferred in Accounting
• GPA above 3.0
• Experience in finance / accounting a plus
• Good communication skills (verbally and written) · Strong ability to multi-task responsibilities and ability to prioritize workload
• Intermediate excel (vlook-up, pivot tables, basic formulas)
• Ability to work with data in exportable/importable format in excel
• Ability to analyze data
