TPRS-UKDYa02229966
At Bombardier Transportation, our trains and rail solutions move millions of people safely and reliably around the world, every single day. Join us, and you’ll be part of a global team, sharing knowledge, experience and ideas across countries and cultures, and boosting our reputation as a global leader in rail technology. Your work will have a truly human impact, connecting communities, cities and businesses, and helping people to get where they need to be. It’s all about progress.
We are currently looking to recruit an Prognostic Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Solution Architect for multiple locations around the globe.
Condition Based Maintenance and Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) are main technologies and value streams used by BT and customers to reduce the maintenance cost and to improve the reliability of fleets.
The candidate is accountable for developing the scalable end-2-end CBM baseline architecture for the different BT product platforms. He/she will work cross-functional with multiple stakeholders as vehicle/system engineering, TCMS, T2G, wayside, BIS, Cybersecurity, maintenance and Prognostic/Data scientist teams to define and develop the CBM physical and logical design including: data/signals requirements to sub-systems, onboard data flow to TCMS, data communication to wayside, wayside and onboard data processing, Prognostics/Analytics architecture, and definition of requirements for the wayside analytics tools to optimize the analytics capability.
The CBM solution architecture results in the End-2-End connected data streams from the vehicle subsystems, TCMS, the wayside over Train-to-Ground communication via the prognostic/analytic process to the customer user-interface (e.g. ORBITA), to increase fleet performance and perform associated services to reduce maintenance cost and increase reliability and availability of the fleets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Defining and owning baseline CBM architecture design:
• Definition of the prognostic strategy identifying the vehicle and wayside critical system and subsystems to be monitored and analysed by prognostic (by FMECA, BLESS and return of experience).
• Definition of the on-board (sub-systems and TCMS functionalities) and wayside architectures for supporting CBM analytics.
• Definition of minimal viable T2G communication architecture to support CBM.
• Definition of the tele-diagnostic interface control documents and requirements for the tele diagnostics software capability.
• Definition and derivation of requirements for the vehicle architects and system engineering/suppliers.
• Definition of the PHM documents (Prognostic Detection specification , Prognostic V&V plan, Prognostic Test Specification).
• Bi-directional interface design with end user interface (e.g. Orbita FM or customer equivalent).
• Support the development of alert based on the status and health indicators vehicle/train to wayside.
• Drive internal and/or final customer relationship to support reliability and optimize maintenance costs via Prognostics and data analytics.
• Manage and stimulate the integration of an Artificial Intelligence approach in the Prognostic process and tools.
• Define, map and consistently develop the holistic End-2-End data flow, the data processing, storage footprint allowing modular and sustainable growth of the intrinsic data capturing and processing capacity.
• Guarantee a competitive cost baseline.
Bid phase & Project execution:
• Analysing the CBM functional bid requirements versus the CBM platform baseline architecture in close collaboration with the PF Services Manager.
• Final validation of the technical feasibility of the “as-sold” CBM solution including handshake and verification from CBM project engineering team.
• Final validation of cost and resource plan of the “as-sold” solution including handshake and verification from CBM project engineering team.
• Manage the “handshake” transfer with the PDM and CBM project engineer from bid to project execution phase.
• Validation of “as-sold” architecture in PI/Warranty phase in support of the CBM project engineer.
• Manage the “handshake” and relationship between the Prognostics analytics team and the internal and/or final customer services team to assure a continuous improvement of the CBM analytics.
Interface and management of external resources: Bombardier specialist engineers, Universities, or external Consultant companies for the design, implementation and validation phases of the prognostic process.
