Position Title: Project Coordinator, Real Estate
Location: South Deerfield, MA or Norwalk, CT
Reports to: Business Unit Relationship Manager, Real Estate
Job Summary: The mission of Newell Brands’ Enterprise Real Estate team is to collaborate with our internal stakeholders to develop and deliver progressive real estate and facilities solutions that create value by supporting growth and reducing costs.
The Real Estate Project Coordinator role will be responsible for supporting Real Estate requirements of one or more Newell Brands Business Units with a primary focus on store closure administration for Home Fragrance retail in North America under the direction of the Business Unit Relationship Manager for Home Fragrance. Responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate and collaborate with the Retail Real Estate and Retail Operations teams to maintain a rolling store closure target list, timeline and budget.
- Execute closings by partnering with each District Sales Manager, notifying and maintaining communication to all appropriate internal and external parties, arranging electronics pick up and sign removal, and ensuring all steps are taken to deactivate stores across all systems.
- Assist Newell’s Enterprise Real Estate Program Management Office (PMO) with other decommissioning and downsizing projects, as necessary, for non-retail properties including warehouses and offices.
- Support, as required, the launch of new retail stores and outlets for any Newell Brands retailer that may require assistance (i.e. Coleman, Marmot, etc.)
- Administer retail stores’ business licenses for all state, city, and county levels including Weights and Measures, and Fire Inspection permits.
- Maintain license reporting inclusive of an active list of addresses, invoice due dates, and license expiration dates.
- Pay all associated licensing invoices and ensure all stores have original copies and maintain an electronic file of all documents by store.
- Assist, Home Fragrances’ real estate team’s retail store dispositioning program including exploitation of co-tenancy and other landlord defaults with the objected to terminate, renegotiate, or transfer leases.
- Compile a quarterly update from D&B, RapidRatings, and press releases, to produce an annual briefing from third-party sources on the state of retail real estate including publicly traded retail REITs
- Review and update all relevant documented processes within the Real Estate playbook on an annual basis to ensure best practices
Key Qualifications:
- High School diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5 plus years of related business experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to multi-task and manage through multiple priorities
- Strong communication and collaborative problem solving skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to travel (25%)
