Job Description

Who You'll Work With

You will be located in one of our Knowledge Centers (Waltham, Costa Rica, Wroclaw) or one of our Practice Hubs (Tampa, Poznan). Exceptional candidates may be considered for other locations.

Your day to day priorities will be coordinated with the global Tech Strategy & Management leaders and you will report to the Director of Client Capabilities for McKinsey Digital and the Director of Strategy & Operations for McKinsey Technology, McKinsey’s core technology practice.

What You'll Do

You will work closely with the global leaders to develop, advance, and track the strategic priorities of the practice.

You will play a key role in client development, client service, knowledge building, reach & relevance, people management and initiatives building.

You will be a key leader within McKinsey Technology and McKinsey Digital overall, and you will be responsible for helping on broader initiatives and maintaining strong links within the broader teams to ensure collaboration on resources and tools, advance opportunities for our best practices in integrated client approaches, including recipes, and create creative and impactful methods for how we deliver knowledge to the Firm and our clients. Understanding the work Practice is doing will be an important component of your day-to-day priorities.

Within the context of providing overall support to the leadership group your key responsibilities will focus on (but won’t be limited to) the below mentioned areas. Some of these activities are more regionally focused and others will require global coordination and collaboration. These evolve in priority over time based on leadership discussions. Additionally, many of these responsibilities should be accomplished in partnership with other teams, for example, Professional Development, Learning, and Recruiting.

You will work with the practice leadership to oversee the implementation of the global knowledge agenda, help staff and coordinate across working teams to ensure progress across priority efforts. You will also help advance the external reputation of the practice through end-to-end support of Technology Strategy and Management focused events, initiatives and proactive oversight of our external presence (e.g., McKinsey.com, McKinsey Technology site, publication pipeline in coordination with editorial board).

In addition, you will effectively radiate new knowledge developments, tools and resources internally across the broader Firm (e.g., celebrating impact from recent initiatives, highlight new knowledge opportunities, run internal webinars on key topics) and drive the creation of best practices in approach, recipes, etc., for refining the work Practice is doing.

You will help shape our CIO agenda and drive key client efforts, maintaining a view of the client pipeline and priority clients, knowledge, people, and core docs and help Client Service Teams with supporting documents as needed (e.g., proposals, gold standard materials and connect teams with relevant experts).

You will push the execution of the overall practice priorities jointly with the leadership group, ensuring tight integration with individual priority leaders, McKinsey Digital leadership, sector leaders and McKinsey Technology.

Convening global core community will be one of your key responsibilities, including being responsible for various agendas and content, and driving meetings and managing efforts to develop effective mentorship across core practitioners.

Supporting the broader McKinsey Technology team (various initiatives related to shaping our CIO agenda, client development, external and internal trainings, cases, and other collaborative initiatives) is going to be an important part of your role (20%).
