What is the opportunity?
Join RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) as the Head of Institutional Sales for the US! In addition to leading a high performing team, you will develop US institutional market strategy and execute distribution of all GAM investment capabilities. You will maintain and grow distribution revenues for the US institutional business of $100mm.
What will you do?
Leverage the value in unit, department, and enterprise wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross enterprise mindset.
- Develop and execute strategy and resourcing for GAM US sales and consultant relations. Develop metrics for revenue production, investment strategy diversification and progress on goals (scaling products, client feedback for product development, consultant adoption, etc.).
- Play leadership role in development and implementation of GAM US strategic marketing plan including assessment of pricing and vehicle structures, development of marketing tactics for each of GAM’s key investment strategies and client segments.
- Serve as member of GAM US Executive Committee on development, implementation and monitoring of US strategic initiatives. Implement digital/remote prospect engagement strategy and metrics and develop and achieve annual revenue and discretionary cost objectives.
- With Head, Client Engagement, implement client facing team meetings to encourage team rapport, inform development of solutions and thought leadership, identify client and prospect trends/needs/feedback.
- Implement salesperson development to ensure all personnel meet/exceed product knowledge and sales skill requirements and educate GAM management on significant client, product and competitive trends in the US.
- Develop regular prospect activity report identifying activity and quality of activity by salesperson, investment capability and channel. Reporting should also provide pipeline with greater transparency of future business opportunities.
- Ensure employees understand RBC vision and support behaviors that help the organization achieve that vision. This includes active involvement with recruiting efforts that support diversity engagement, providing focus and clarity in establishing goals, driving performance management, fostering career development and rewarding strong performance.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Economics, or a similar discipline with 10+ years’ experience working with fixed income and equity securities or related job experience.
- Series 3, 6, 7, and 24 required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Strong leadership presence and collaborative leader across teams with a vision for the future of selling in the US, including role of digital engagement.
- Strong product knowledge – particularly fixed income and alternatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
