What is the opportunity?

As a Director in Loan Portfolio Management, you will manage a team responsible for the oversight of the Capital Markets loan portfolio. Working with our partners in Corporate Banking, Risk Management, and Global Credit, you will ensure credit concerns in the loan book are communicated quickly and efficiently to senior management in Capital Markets and Risk Management. You will be responsible for the direction/strategy of the loan book monitoring process, and will work to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the process. In the role, you will be presenting directly to senior members of Capital Markets and Risk Management, and will develop a strong understanding of the strategy behind RBC’s Capital Markets lending business.

What will you do?

  • Review and present financial and risk analysis on companies within RBCCM’s loan portfolio.
  • Own/manage Global Credit’s “Credit Concern Report” and early warning (“Triage”) process.
  • Present materials on a weekly basis to senior members of RBCCM.
  • Coordinate and present ad hoc analysis on the loan book, as required by senior members of RBCCM.
  • Train and develop a team of high performing credit professionals.
  • Enhance existing reporting by developing web-based dashboards

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree or a post-graduate degree with a focus in business, economics, mathematics or other quantitative field.
  • Experience originating and/or adjudicating corporate credit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • MBA or professional designation (e.g. CFA, CPA)
  • Experience managing a team
  • Proficiency working with data and databases (i.e. Excel, Microsoft Access)
