Enablement Solution Team:
At Chegg, the Enablement Solution team is an integral partner to various internal groups (e.g. Product Verticals, Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Finance, etc.). We deliver and maintain a variety of mission-critical technology platforms, services, and site/mobile customer experiences. Our mindset is centered around accelerating Chegg’s customer growth by improving operational efficiencies, building our products, and services for resiliency and scalability. Role:

Chegg is going through a major technology shift – we are upgrading our legacy monolithic system to a modern architecture written in Single Page Application and Microservices, all the while delighting our customers with new features at a breathtaking pace.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Engineer who can independently contribute to the vision of a Microservice architecture, evangelizing across team on technologies, and leading the service development effort for the Enablement Solution Team.

The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services in a cloud platform, AWS preferred, and passionate about building the best possible technical solutions for customer problems.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Product, Architect and Lead Engineers on Chegg’s Service Architecture.
• Serve as the domain expert on building cloud-native applications.
• Implement domain services.
• Participate in lean and agile development process in a fast-paced environment, from planning, scoping, estimation all the way to optimization, maintenance, and support.

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
• 5+ years software engineering experience, with 3+ years of such experience in an agile environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong experience in Java EE or Spring Framework.
• Strong experience with Cloud technologies, AWS preferred.
• Strong Experience with developing and integrating with microservices.
• Experience delivering high performance, scalable and mission-critical software in a cloud environment.

Plus:

• AWS Certification is a big plus.
• Experience in Node.js.
• Experience with Service Discovery solutions.
• Experience with building platform serviced for internal and external developers.
