Eaton’s Marketing Commercial Operations Division is currently seeking a Variable Frequency Drives Technical Support Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Arden, NC or Menomonee Falls, WI facility. If residing outside 50 miles of Arden, NC, relocation will be offered.

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Technical Support Engineer is to provide technical support for the low voltage variable frequency drives (VFD) support team within the Technical Resource Center (TRC). This position assists internal and external customers with product selection, application assistance programming and troubleshooting of Eaton’s VFD products. This position will assist customers through various channels including phone and email.

In this function you will:
  • Provide post sale and presale technical support for VFD’s
  • Provide verbal and written technical support for internal and external customers
  • Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies
  • Help the team meet KPI’s (key performance indicators)
  • Perform assigned duties in a team atmosphere while also having the ability to work independently
  • Use internal software applications including MFgPro, C360 CRM, Access TRC call log, Enovia and Vista
  • Participate in the development and/or maintenance of product support resources (i.e. self-service knowledge base, application notes, catalogs)
  • Work flexible hours to support emergency customer situations

QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 2 years experience with Variable Frequency Drives
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Automation technical knowledge (PLC’s, HMIs, and communication protocols)
