Director of Strategic Growth

We are looking for a Director of Strategic Growth to drive the business development strategy for Huge in the West Region based out of our Oakland office across both inbound and outbound channels. The Director of Strategic Growth helps to develop strategic relationships with potential clients and partners, with a portion of their time dedicated to consulting with Client Service teams on opportunities with existing clients. This person primarily oversees business development initiatives from the opportunity lead phase to the contract phase, but will also be responsible for generating new leads, as well.

The Director of Strategic Growth is responsible for providing both strategic and tactical leadership across large-scale engagements. The Director of Strategic Growth is able to identify a client’s business needs and work with both the client and Huge cross-disciplinary teams to understand, define, and build effective and innovative solutions that generate measurable results. They are as much a leader as they are a communicator and mentor. The ability to read between the lines and hear what is not being said is at the core of this role and an ability to solicit information and facilitate its transfer consistently and correctly across the various project communication channels is a key skill for this role.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Primary point of contact in leading strategic development of new business while building the Huge brand and expanding our business in the West Region
  • Run end-to-end pitch & proposal processes, including assessing initial opportunities with clear and consistent criteria for qualification, collaborating with key internal stakeholders on pitch deliverables, interfacing with prospective clients, and creating written RFI & RFP responses.
  • Understand client business goals and strategic imperatives and help the pitch team develop strategic deliverables including written and creative assignments that represent the client’s needs.
  • Maintain new business pipeline relationships with intermediaries and prospective agencies and partners in the Bay Area and the West Region
  • Expand contacts with key client or partner executives and maintain strong post-conversion and/or post-engagement relationships introducing new opportunities aligned to their new, evolving needs
  • Collaborate very closely with Client Service discipline leads to consistently identify needs our existing clients may not recognize and ensure that approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and presentations
What We'd Like To See:
  • 10+ years experience
  • Proven track record to grow new business
  • Strong product & platform experience
  • Ability to create strong relationships with intermediaries and partners
  • Seasoned in a client services organization, preferably on accounts within an digital agency, technology platform, or top tier consulting firm
  • Proven ability to nurture and convert long term, multi-million dollar engagements with multiple project tracks and teams
  • Ability to interact with clients of all levels and industry backgrounds, from the CEO to administrative support staff
  • Proven ability to proactively manage and set client and internal team expectations in a very dynamic growth environment
  • Understanding and awareness of aligning consumer goals and business goals
  • An understanding of development technologies and third party offerings
  • Ability to see beyond the explicit request in an inbound inquiry and identify what the prospective client may really need inclusive of the original ask
