The Design Solutions Department at Magic Leap, Inc. is currently in search of a Senior Technical Artist with CG Generalist skills to join its team. We’re looking for a veteran who is well versed in all aspects of AAA 3D content creation and real-time engines. This candidate is forward-thinking, driven and willing to embrace the challenges of developing for spatial computing and the Magic Leap device.

Qualifications :

• 5 or more years working in video game, film or similar industry
• Shipped a game, app, experience, or equivalent in a related field
• A true generalist who turns problems into solutions and can work on all facets of the 3D pipeline
• A creative problem-solver, great communicator and team player with a drive to deliver awe-inspiring work
• Knowledge of Maya, Unity, Unreal, ZBrush, Mudbox, Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop
• Intimate knowledge of current and emerging asset creation pipelines and workflows, including PBR

Responsibilities :

• Work on all aspects of the content pipeline from modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, shaders, lighting and fx
• Create both high and low resolution sculpts and models based on concepts or specifications
• Author and customize shaders for a variety of needs using Unity’s Shader Graph or Amplify
• Implement various lighting techniques including lightmapping, baking and light probes
• Provide occasional support in rigging and animation, including support for facial blendshapes, FACS and motion capture
• Integrate, assemble and manage scene assets using Maya and Unity
• Work closely with design, engineering and project leadership to tune assets so that they fit the visual and technical needs of the application
• Use artistic foundation in shape, structure, composition, color, silhouette, and form to push artistic exploration and requirements of projects as set by leads and art directors
• Be a self-motivated team player with excellent communication and problem solving skills
