The Organization:

The Finance Services Group works with the product and finance groups within Chegg to support finance activities including month end close. The team is responsible for maintaining financial applications like NetSuite, Revpro, manage the integration of data between the systems. FSG is also responsible for working with Data Engineering and Ecommerce teams within Chegg to build and manage data marts that help with financial reporting. It is a diverse team composed of financial analysts, integration and data engineers, BI.

The Responsibilities:

• Implement data frameworks (ingestion, processing, distribution, access) for our core data integrations platform.
• Design and develop functional datamarts based on the business requirements. Work closely with stakeholders (Reporting team, Analysts and Business) and source system domain experts.
• Engage and deliver complex integrations from both internal and external data sources.
• Understand and implement AWS based data engineering solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support ETLs and Events pipelines operations.

The Requirements:

• 4+ years’ experience working as an engineer in a data focused team developing data processing frameworks and capabilities
• 2+ years of experience with Python especially Pandas, Numpy
• Experience working with big data and database technologies, especially Spark, Redshift, Databricks or EMR
• String experience working with ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing tools and technologies
• Proficiency in SQL, procedural language to build and process the functional data marts
• Experience working with both structured and unstructured data paradigms
• Good understanding of Data Modelling and Data Mart concepts
• Experience troubleshooting data quality issues, analysing data requirements and utilizing big data systems
• A strong desire to build data platforms that drive insights from Chegg’s network of students, physical and digital content, and learning aids
• An insatiable appetite to transform education through data
• Most importantly – a reliable team player

Preferred:

• With a background in Finance domain
• Passionate about automation, optimizing various data workflows towards reducing latencies of data availability
