What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Enterprise Services ("VES") provides technology solutions to thousands of companies worldwide. The Industry Verticals team is positioned to help grow our business in the key industry sectors by leveraging Verizon’s core platforms such as network, advanced communications, cloud, security, mobility and M2M, managed services, and professional services.

The Innovation PrincipalProgram Manager is responsible for defining, delivering, managing the industry vertical strategy aligned with mega market trends. You are responsible for business development and industry strategy, assessment, messaging framework, use cases development, EBC facilitation, Customer AdvisoryBoards assistance, thought leadership, partnerships and leadership at industry forums, industry events and major trade shows, as well as coordinate any and all support from the marketing organization needed by the Innovation Principal program to meet sales targets.

You are responsible to provide direction and leadership in the development and execution of standardized programs and approaches and ensure consistent program delivery and program improvement. You are responsible for the development of the Vertical segment marketing plan, including strategies and programs, designed to increase demand for VES products, targeted to the enterprise verticals as well as identify opportunities to extend marketing initiatives across vertical segments in corporate, systems integrators, channel partners and federal segments.

Vertical segments include but are not limited to: Finance, Insurance, Healthcare, Retail, Travel, and Hospitality, Manufacturing and Automotive, Entertainment and Media, Technology and Services, Energy and Utility, Transportation and Distribution, and Public Sector.

This is a highly visible role, orchestrating a cross-functional team, providing strong inter-departmental, cross-functional and cross organizational leadership, to drive response/lead generation and efficient sales marketing programs. This role includes both internal and external presentations, strategizing with key business leaders, customers, and technology partners, and frequent interactions with senior executives within the Verizon marketing and sales organizations.

  • Partner with vertical sales leaders to create and drive segment specific marketing plans and ensure marketing plans align with revenue goals and account strategies, including white space analysis and up sell / cross sell opportunities.
  • Develop common deliverables across the enterprise verticals to build a consistent cohesive enterprise vertical plan in support of the Innovation PrincipalProgram.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to inform and identify major themes of opportunity and determine the solutions and use cases that leverage Verizon’s strategic assets.
  • Manage the development of an integrated solution and use case portfolio designed to help the business meet strategic revenue targets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with resources in Marketing Strategy, Product Marketing, Segment Marketing, Digital Marketing & Communications, Sales, GID, Professional Services, I.T., Finance and Go-to-Market.
  • Provide feedback loop on industry initiatives and spend priorities, product gaps, unique industry needs to the product teams for investment prioritization and for improvement of our product portfolio (in cooperation with Verizon’s product development organization).
  • Communicate with marketing, senior leadership, and sales management on an ongoing basis regarding new and nurtured lead performance results, performance, and course corrections.
  • Manage projects budget and meet committed deadlines to various stakeholders.

This position can be located in other valid Verizon domestic locations.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in relevant domain, ie)retail or financial services
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

You’ll also need to have:

  • Ten or more years of demonstrated experience, including responsibility for talent and performance management within a division or large department, managing a team of technical/creative individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building capabilities, with the ability to build trust based relationships and manage effectively. Proven ability to drive change and results through influential leadership skills.
  • Must be an articulate professional with excellent oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to present in high profile group environments.
  • Capability of crafting a clear vision and the steps necessary to execute against that vision.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Knowledge in project management and stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to run multiple complex programs with history of successful implementations.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills combined with an interest and skill in analyzing data and interpreting and translating its meaning to produce actionable changes that drive optimized results.
  • Ability to work in a fast, results-driven environment while maintaining a longer term strategic perspective of Verizon’s role with the enterprise segment.
  • High energy, self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
