Primary Function of this Position

Reporting directly to the head of Commercial HR, this position serves as a strategic Human Resources leader and business partner to Intuitive Surgical India. This role will be responsible for the oversight of Human Resources for the India market. This individual will be part of the leadership team in India and work in close partnership to support the continued development and growth of the India organization. This individual will be responsible to deliver talent strategies and operational solutions aligned the goals of the country and global HR function.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Act as a senior advisor, coach, and counsel to the GM and the leadership team.
• Partner with the leadership team to identify, develop and deliver effective talent strategies to support the business.
• Oversee the day to day operations of HR in support of the employee life cycle - recruiting, hiring, onboarding, development, mobility, performance management, exiting. Implement process improvements as appropriate.
• In collaboration with leadership, build a positive employee environment that emphasizes Intuitive’s culture, core values, and individual and leadership expectations.

• Provide insight and guidance to country leadership regarding employee and organizational issues; provide support in the handling of employee relations
• Work with corporate HR centers of expertise to provide guidance and support in establishing local employment contracts, compensation and benefits, and talent management practices.
• Collaborate with corporate training & development to develop and implement training programs to meet business strategies.
• Oversee the administration of and provide guidance on talent programs: merit, performance review, talent planning, talent development, succession planning, etc.
• Provide ongoing coaching and development feedback to managers and individual contributors.
• Ensure HR compliance with local labor laws.
• Lead, develop and mentor HR team members.

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:
• 12+ years of Human Resources experience and career progression in an international, fast growing and matrixed environment; healthcare or technology company preferred; Masters / MBA degree preferred.
• 5+ years of people management experience required.
• Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgement that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, or government law.
• Analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to support recommendations through data and analysis.
• Ability to remain focused with strong attention to detail, and deliver exceptional quality work.
• Exceptional communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trust, credibility, and strong, productive relationships.
• Proven ability to work positively, collaboratively, and professionally within a team and across a global organization.
• Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
• Ability to drive change, think strategically and operationally; high degree of influence skills.
• Ability to set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment.
• Ability to balance local requirements with functional and/or corporate objectives.
• Familiarity and comfort in working in a highly matrixed organization
• Resourceful and solution-driven; has an ability to operate with limited information and/or direction.
• Excellent organizational and project/program management skills.
• Working knowledge of country labor laws and practices.
• Fluent in English.
