Our Exciting Opportunity

Ericsson’s Machine to Machine (M2M) service is called Ericsson IoT Accelerator which is a robust solution built to connect and manage billions of devices and millions of applications easily, seamlessly and globally. Our IoT platform helps enterprise customers to build and scale their cellular IoT efforts faster – growing their business, your business and the IoT ecosystem at large.

We are now looking for a Manager for the IoT Engineering Design Business Support System (BSS) unit. The Manager IoT Design BSS is responsible for the logical and physical network design of the BSS infrastructure and platform, as part of Ericsson’s IoT Accelerator solution. This role is a leadership role within BTEB IoT Operations Engineering organization, reporting to the Head of IoT Engineering.

The following nodes comprise the area BSS infrastructure and platform: HPE 3PAR SAN, Oracle databases on Oracle VMs, OTE environment, OpenShift Container Platform, routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.

What you will do:

• taking a visible and communicated technology leadership role for the BSS infrastructure and platform
• designing the logical and physical network of the BSS infrastructure and platform
• continuously evolving the BSS infrastructure and platform roadmap, considering long term technology advancements which may enhance resilience, efficiency and flexibility
• producing, maintaining and updating BSS infrastructure, platform blueprints and all documentation, such as High-Level Design, Solution Design and Low-Level Design etc.
• provide handover documents to Network Operations Center(s), according to handover requirements
• designing the logical and physical network of the BSS infrastructure and platform test environments
• staying informed about industry practices and professional / technical development
• providing design documentation for efficient and reliable Life Cycle Management and Change Management
• embedding automation, cost and efficiency improvements in logical and physical network designs
• providing technical support to the sales organization, when requested
• assist in trouble shooting and onboarding support, when requested

Additional responsibilities:

• unit financial and operational performance, target achievement and progress reporting
• promoting collaboration, knowledge and best practice sharing
• defining long term competence needs
• recruitment, people development and creating a high-performance culture
• providing all unit staff continuous support and coaching – ensure that no one is ever left behind

To be successful in the role you must have:

• M.Sc. (Telecommunication / Computer Science)
• Telecoms experience: at least 8 years’ experience including at least 2 years experience with development / programming and line and project management
• Well-developed line management and leadership skills, leading by example. Self-motivated and working well under pressure
• High degree of accountability and integrity
• Ability to communicate effectively, both within and outside the company
• Customer oriented and business minded – focus on cost efficiency
