The Trust & Safety team has the critical responsibility of protecting Credit Karma's members by securing our online processes and preventing online fraud and abuse throughout the Credit Karma product suite.
What you'll do:
- Mid level programming skills (SQL, Python, R, etc.)
- Analyzes fraud patterns to model fraud rules (coding and UI interface) to detect and systemically alert fraud operations team
- Monitor rule performance, False Positive, Detection Rates and loss impact
- Develop champion challenger rule sets and deploy as appropriate
- Detection focus: New account, Identify fraud, payment transactions and Account Takeover
- Develop best practices and processes for fraud scoring rules, strategies, and other business improvements to reduce new account, synthetic identity and identity theft fraud activity
- Simulate rule performance prior to installation
- Define and document business requirements, processes and for fraud prevention systems
- Partner with engineering and data science teams to optimize detection environment system impact and ability to work collaboratively across teams

- Manage fraud rule performance, false positives, detection rates and loss impact
- You'll directly assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of fraud prevention initiatives
- Partnering with analytics, risk operations and technology groups to identify data sources and develop processes for capturing required data
- Testing internal controls and identify control deficiencies, analyze impact and exposure, and recommend improvements
- Identifying fraud trends and taking appropriate action
- Work closely with our partners to develop, maintain and mature our fraud operating procedures and processes
Basic minimum qualifications:
- Solid understanding of the fraud management life cycle and industry trends
- Mid level programming skills (SQL, Python, R, etc.)
- Experience in Financial Services or FinTech
- Building fraud processes for emerging payment products
- Have broad knowledge of project management and business process reengineering
- 5 years minimum prior proven experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience at a regulated financial institution
- Understanding of Payment network rules and requirements
- Understanding of NACHA rules
- Understanding of Reg E and Reg D
- Understanding of KYC/AML
