About the team:

The eBay Global Customer Experience (GCX) team is responsible for building experiences that customers love in Service Delivery! The role we are hiring for is Sr Analyst, part of the Analytics team within the GCX organization. This team is responsible for customer behavior insights and product impact analysis, as well as Fraud, Risk, Policy, and Payments operations analysis!

The role:

The role is focused on collaborating with the newly formed Operational Risk and Controls organization to identify and measure holistic impact of various policies and procedures within our eBay to Member team.

In addition to strong SQL knowledge, collaboration and storytelling are required. Intellectual curiosity is an absolute must, with a passion for achieving practical business impact. Skills in quantitative analysis, problem definition, synthesis & recommendation development will be essential. We will require you to have superb social skills, initiative, integrity, outstanding business judgment and excellent quantitative analytic abilities.

You will:

  • Work with stakeholders to find workable solutions to our business problems on data. This will require ability to translate problems stated in business terms into quantitative approaches leading to projects starting small and aspiring to grow big if preliminary results are promising
  • Set up a test (A/B test or pre-post) to measure performance in the best possible way
  • Transform data analysis and communicate business performance in a clear and insightful way to partners (primarily Operational Risk & Controls) to facilitate timely and informed decision-making
  • Ensure statistical rigor is applied to all analyses and business recommendations
  • Provide performance measurement and insight into key business drivers for GCX leadership
  • Extract, analyse and collate data from various sources to create prototypes and present to senior management
  • Work with the global analytics teams to ensure consistency of metric and performance measurement

You have:

  • A BS Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Information Systems or quantitative field required (or experience equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in an analytical/consulting/finance environment
  • Experience with common data analysis and statistical toolkits / software environments such as R, Python, or others. SQL is a must have.
  • Experience with business intelligence and/or data visualization tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • The ability to translate analytical insights into clear recommendations and effectively deliver it to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written, verbal, and social communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization in a clear, timely and effective manner
  • Passion for problem-solving and a solid ability to work with ambiguity
