What is the opportunity?

In the BSA role, you will engage IT and stakeholders to help plan, elicit, analyze, document, manage, and communicate technology requirements that meet the needs of the bank. You will also resolve system issues, contribute to and support detailed business requirements, conduct information gathering sessions, perform System Integration Testing, recommend technology solutions and new technology initiatives to partners and members of the Senior Management Team. The scope of work to be performed ranges from day-to-day ‘keep the lights on’ activities to complex initiatives that require the engagement of multiple suppliers and the modification/build of multiple interfaces and multiple functions.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for Incident and defect management and works closely with multiple 3rd party suppliers to drive priority and resolution. Maintains incident/defect database, participates in incident triaging and resolution, provides reporting, and participates in QRM (Quality Review Meeting) when required.
  • Responsible for executing Release Management and Change Management activities. For run the bank change and release management activities individual will execute System Integration Testing and support development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and post implementation verification. Builds and maintains a repository of reusable systems documentation. Ensures change management evidence is retained to meet regulatory/audit requirements.
  • Responsible for Application Maintenance and tasks required to ‘keep the lights on’, including but not limited to, semi-annual application verification, annual application health check, software certificate updates, file transmission documentation, application currency/scalability, monthly KRIs (key risk indicators), etc. Ensures solutions are appropriately documented and easily referenced for on-going production and change support.
  • Contributes to IT strategy and works closely with work colleagues, 3rd Party suppliers, and Architect(s) to determine the best mix of development, interfacing applications, and 3rd party vendor solutions to meet bank requirements and project objectives while identifying risks and developing risk mitigation strategies. Recommends technology solutions that satisfy stakeholder needs and provides consulting services to non-IT partners on new initiatives. Executes on technology strategy by liaising and supporting integration activities in lock in step with project schedule and deliverables. Prepares and delivers presentations to non-IT partners and senior management.
  • Ensures technical environment is held to regulatory, audit and compliance standards as mandated by RBC policy and external regulating bodies.
  • On-going Personal Development Expected (RBC Bank Systems and Environments learning, self-development in banking technologies and trends, emerging technologies)


What do you need to bring?
Required Experience and Skills

  • 5-10 years’ experience supporting bank systems or digital technologies support
  • Experience supporting banking platforms or financial applications providing banking services
  • Experience analyzing and supporting application interfaces and system interoperability
  • Experience managing and accessing real time interfaces and API end point management between applications
  • Several years’ experience in software implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring clarity to business processes that may not be well understood by customers themselves
  • Experience working with solution providers and Fintechs to onboard & support digital solutions

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Certification
  • Knowledge and Support of Workflow Solutions (Business Process Management)
  • Knowledge and Support of Channel UI Solutions
  • Knowledge and Support of Mobile Solutions
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies including SCRUM
  • Advanced knowledge of various requirements gathering methods and methodologies
  • Knowledge of cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification skills
  • Risk assessment skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
