Job Description
OneSignal is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager that will continue to enhance our mobile and web SDKs. 1,000,000+ developers and 500,000+ live apps use our product send more than 7 billion notifications per day, and that number continues to grow quickly. Our web SDK is present on 3.7% of Internet sites. As an Engineering Manager leading the OneSignal SDK team, you'll be working on improving and extending our SDKs. You will support a team of engineers that build and maintain our growing list of integrations: Android Native, iOS Native, Web (JavaScript), Unity, React Native, Expo, Cordova, Ionic, PhoneGap, Flutter, Xamarin, and more.
What you'll do:
- Support a team of mobile and web engineers, including activities like performance reviews, 1:1s, collaborating on career growth plans
- Provide thought leadership on where OneSignal should make technical investments (e.g. by staying up to date with Apple's WWDC conference, or by staying up to date on other relevant technology trends)
- Evangelize design patterns and great development techniques
- Work with our recruiting team to hire and retain top industry experts to help us reach our goals
- Roll up your sleeves to write code when needed; while the ideal candidate will spend a majority of their time supporting the team, we value flexibility and a hands-on attitude
Skills and experience:
- 2+ years management experience and 5+ years industry software engineering experience
- Experience with mobile engineering (e.g. Obj-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin)
- Experience with web engineering (e.g. JavaScript, React)
- Friendliness and empathy
- Modesty
- Strong technical writer
- Proficiency in written and oral communications
- Love of learning
