Job Description
The Research Assistant will recruit and enroll study participants in clinical studies; schedule study visits; collect and review data collection forms and enter the data into a database; perform clerical duties; assist with the preparation of IRB applications and document maintenance; and assist in study procedures (e.g., phlebotomy, EKG, blood culture), as needed.
Bachelor’s degree required; MPH degree preferred.
Experience in a clinical research setting highly desirable.
- Previous experience recruiting subjects with an understanding of the ethical and technical conduct of research preferred
- Excellent oral (including English) and written communication skills
- Bilingual or multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is desirable
- Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat/Reader, web browsers, and statistical software
- Excellent organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive, personal, and protected health information
