Summary The primary responsibility of the QA / PI Manager is to ensure processes and procedures associated with product quality control and quality assurance compliance, inspection, testing and production samples (fabric and garments) are followed by vendors and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Supervise successful coordination between Fanatics PI Analysts, 3rd party partners, vendors and supplier factory inspections, testing and sample checking according to procedures.
- Ensure performance requirements for product testing, inspections and specifications for product and compliance during production.
- Communicate Fanatics production standards and provide training to vendors answering all questions related to quality.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of performance indicators (KPI) and reports related to production facilities audit, production samples, raw materials, product testing and inspection.
- Own development and maintenance of quality factory training materials and training plan.
- Own and manage factory (CFA) training/documentation and follow-up for vendors and factory personnel on Fanatics quality management processes and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationship with factory and vendor personnel during both preproduction and production with quality leadership and inspectors.
- Supervise roles and responsibilities of HUB PI quality analysts.
- Assist PI/Quality Director with special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- ** Apparel / Garment experience required **
- Manufacturing experience: a minimum of 5 years, and at least 3 of them in production supervision level or project management with practical experience in managing people.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred but not necessary.
- Working experience as Apparel Product Inspector – 2 years as minimum.
- Strong command of written and spoken English – must be able to write and speak fluently in English.
- Experience creating and implementing SOP and WI.
- Experience assuring Quality Manual and/or quality procedures compliance.
- Certification or Knowledge based on Quality Systems ASQ/AAFA (American Apparel & Footwear Association), ISO 9001, Six Sigma, other computer-based software related to quality control and industry testing protocols
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – very desirable.
- Strong people management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point. Experience with pivot charts, statistics analysis and construct quality tools on computer. Note this will be tested during the recruitment process.
- Practical knowledge and application of problem-solving techniques (Ichikawa, 5WS, Pareto, etc.) in real troubleshooting cases in apparel manufacturing.
- Some travel is required to vendors as needed.
- Proven customer care and collaborative approach required.
- Proactive and straight-forward thinking is highly desirable.
- Munsell test for color discrimination at superior level mandatory.
