DescriptionJoining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.
Primary function of the position: The IT Remote Site Support Specialist is responsible for providing hardware and software support to all site-specific employees by leveraging best practices provided by the IT Operations, Infrastructure, Security and Network departments.
Hardware support includes all laptops, desktops, printers, mobile phones, telecommunications (VOIP), audio-visual equipment, servers and network devices. Software support includes Microsoft operating systems, Cisco OS, e-mail, third-party software used to support business functions, and various company-supported business applications (such as MS Office).
This includes a proactive commitment to improve processes in terms of reliability, manufacturability, maintainability, auditability, capacity and cost. It also includes reactive efforts to resolve unexpected error modes or other unforeseen problems. Interface with cross-functional teams and logistics support teams.
This position is highly collaborative and requires an equal level of technical and soft skills.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Support of the most diverse requests for IT support directly from users in the office and on site or according to the escalation levels
- Establish and manage local IT supplier relationships and schedule on-demand mobile phone, audio/video, network, security and printer support
- Integration / integration of existing users, as well as appropriate support for new users or those who leave the company
- Preparation and installation of hardware and software as required, as well as possible troubleshooting
- Be a support or member of the virtual service desk organization
- Documentation and maintenance of existing IT processes, as well as implementation of best practices, maintenance of the knowledge database and training materials
- Support for all building requirements, including computers, printers, copiers, meeting requirements, A/V and IT security
- manage or participate in various assigned local, regional or global projects, as appropriate
- Communication with management to report problems, their status and the resulting solutions in a timely manner
- Maintain an adequate equipment inventory through planning, ordering, receiving, replenishing, accounting and storage of equipment to ensure an adequate level of inventory of IT hardware
- conducting regular inventories to ensure accuracy and compliance with the processes
- Support for Cisco Zoom video conferencing units and voice infrastructure hardware through troubleshooting methods
- Support and supervision of on-site and off-site meetings
- Ensuring high availability, reliability and optimal performance of technology systems and services
- Support of the facility management in case of modifications of IT hardware by external service providers and changes to the EIB control of the building infrastructure
Qualifications - Bachelor degree or higher in of the following fields: - Specialist IT System Integration or IT System Electronic Engineer
- Sucessfully completed training in IT Environment and at least 5 Years of solid professional Experience
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Operations Systems and strong troubleshooting skills in a domain environment
- Experience in a Windows client environment as well as experience with Microsoft Windows Server
- Good knowledge in handling Active Directory systems
- Secure handling and Experience with Cisco/Zoom Voice and Video infrastructure, switches and routers
- First contact points with ServiceNow, OKTA, SAM, McAfee are desirable
- Strong intuition and perseverance to locate the cause of problems and solve problems based on basic principles
- Support also required on weekends and outside business hours as required
- Willingness to travel for several days within Germany, Europe and USA is assumed
