BD Director- Retail & Consumer Goods

Job Description

Job Scope / Responsibilities

The BD will specialize in creating a business strategy to WIN new logos for the mainland China region.

The target industry segments covers Retail Consumer goods industry.

Business strategy includes, account selection, profiling, market intelligence, customer connects and an entry strategy to WIN the new logos.

Execution includes Customer meetings, creation of leads and demand pipeline and right positioning of Cognizant solutions and offerings.

Collaborate with Vertical Sales, delivery and opportunity pursuit team (solution architects, service line executives) to solution the leads meeting Customer needs and ensure a WIN strategy to gain the first entry into the new logos

Owns the entire sales process, customer relationship, RFPs / proposals, contracting, pricing negotiations and hands over to delivery teams for execution post WIN

Collaborate with the partner eco system (Cloud, Digital marketing, ERP, CRM and others) towards creating a highly localized solutions meeting customer business needs

KPIs includes Net new logo WINs, TCV

The coverage will be across Mainland China, reporting into the overall China Business head, with min business related travels to other cities as needed.

Desired Skills & Experience

12 to 15 years of Sales experience in IT services / consulting industry servicing Multinational and domestic Chinese customers across Retail Consumer goods industries.

This position requires interactions with the global teams, hence good English communication skills is a must

Experience in selling key services lines including Application Development & Maintenance, Packaged solutions implementation in ERP & CRM, Infrastructure, BPS and most importantly the new Digital areas like Mobility, AI and Analytics, Cloud, Digital Engineering and IoT
