Summary:
Precision Medicine Operations is looking for a data analyst who can help with entry and maintenance for all data collected from Precision Medicine clinical trials. This position is responsible for the efficient and effective management, handling, and processing of clinical, operations, and research data. This will include leading the development of tools and dashboards for querying, visualizing, and cleaning data and working collaboratively with internal and external groups to assure data integrity. This will require an individual with exceptional attention to detail, intermediate to advanced computational and programming skills, and the capacity to rapidly develop and act upon in-depth knowledge of our business, products, and processes. In this role, you will be responsible for creating data visualizations, implementing best practices for analytics, architecting database solutions, and offering strategic insights based on your data queries.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleaning. Use technical tools, language, or custom coding and systems analysis to systematically clean data and select or create datasets for analysis, including the creation of sample inventories.
- Possess advanced knowledge of structured data, such as entities, classes, hierarchies, relationships, and metadata, with the ability to perform data mapping for systems integration, data provisioning, and data consumption.
- Leverage experience working with and creating datasets, preferably in a clinical or scientific research setting. Use technical tools/systems and programming languages to systematically clean data, including processing confidential data according to guidelines.
- Create and aggregate medium-to-high-complexity tabular operational reports from diverse sources to serve both internal and external collaborators.
- Manually populate non-automated data as necessary.
- Work with internal data management and external vendors and collaborators to enforce adherence to data standards for enhancements and new repositories and provide quality assurance of imported data. This includes maintaining current data initiatives and improve present-day structures.
- Understand data quality concepts and best practices and tools. Identify data anomalies and work with data stewards in other units to perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and develop policies and best practices. Troubleshoot issues with data and databases. Maintain and impart to systems and colleagues a deep appreciation for organization (required).
- Guide and/or create user tools for easy access of internal and external results by internal groups. Develop requirements for data, reporting, views and tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in integrating complex, inter-departmental processes and information strategies.
- Must be able to code in R, Python, Perl, or other languages to manipulate and clean datasets.
- Familiarity with webtool, API, and database development appreciated.
- Must be comfortable with a Linux/Unix environment.
- Experience with BASH programming is a plus.
- Basic working knowledge of clinical trials
- Proficiency with Microsoft product suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Self-directed and comfortable working on teams with the ability to work and operate independently within a tight deadline environment. High degree of creativity, latitude, and attention to detail required.
- Ability to be agile and flexible in daily routines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to understand processes and identify areas of improvement.
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
