Who You'll Work With

You will join our Waltham, MA location and will be part of Digital Change team. Digital Change is the Agile marketing and adoption team that supports McKinsey's Technology & Digital (T&D) function. T&D is a 2000 person strong products and services group focused on delivering value and outcomes for our 33,000 client, engagement and firm-serving professionals. T&D's strategic priorities and vision align with the firm's strategy, vision, and core mission. Digital Change works with product/service teams to design and deliver go-to-market strategies, behavior change programs, and communication touchpoints to help foster awareness and adoption of T&D's digital solutions. The team uses a Scrumban Agile approach to sprint against a backlog of product and service team needs. The Internal Communications Manager will work with teams throughout T&D and, in some cases, with the firm's global internal communications teams.

What You'll Do

You'll plan and execute communication strategies that keep T&D colleagues informed and motivated, grow and enhance the reputation of our T&D function across the firm, and raise awareness of and excitement about our digital change efforts. Working closely with Digital Change and T&D leadership, you'll manage integrated communications campaigns that follow the firm's and T&D's identity and quality standards. Your omni-channel plans will include compelling content and messaging that resonates with various audiences and aligns with our other campaigns and initiatives. You will looks for ways to clearly measure and track the effectiveness of the communications and channels to refine and augment your strategies. You'll also handle T&D's communications calendar, including quarterly town hall meetings and regular leadership meetings. You'll help manage our response to crisis situations, and collaborate with other internal communications teams at the firm to ensure we are amplifying our impact.You'll identify and propose opportunities to experiment with and innovate our communication practices. You will work with other content focused professionals in the firm to help identify, document, and share communication and best practices. You’ll have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, especially on an internal communications team and on technology-related topics.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and digital platforms like Slack and Box.
  • Demonstrated impact in a professional services setting a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills and content design experience across all formats, including social, long-form, email, digital signage, town hall meetings, and presentations.
  • Strong speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative and project management skills, with the ability to take a strategic communications plan from concept through execution.
  • Proven record of collaborating successfully with many stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • High level of initiative, with the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A mindset toward coaching and enabling others with best practice guidelines and reusable templates.
  • Team orientation, with a strong sense of commitment to helping others succeed.
  • Comfortable working with remote colleagues and teams.
