If you are motivated by delivering happiness, come join us at Zoom! Zoom is seeking a hands on technical manager to lead our Operations Security Engineering team. Zoom Security Engineers implement, enhance and manage various tools and technologies used to identify and protect IT assets, detect security events and enable security incident response. You will lead a team that owns or integrates several security technology categories including SIEM, FIM, WAF, IPS, AV, EDR, CASB, UEBA, and vulnerability management. You will closely collaborate with many other teams within Zoom, as well as external customer security teams to actively defend Zoom’s assets and the security of our customers. In addition to strong leadership and communications skills, as a player-coach you will need to have strong Linux skills and experience in physical, virtual and public cloud data center environments. In addition to your responsibilities implementing and managing tools, Zoom Security Engineers pitch in on Security Operations work when necessary, so experience in Security Operations, incident response, threat hunting, or forensic investigation is helpful. Deep connections and a track record of thought leadership within the security community are also highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of Operations Security Engineers; recruits, hires, trains, coaches and evaluates staff; assigns staff priorities, monitors and manages execution timelines and quality.
• Implements, enhances and manages security tools and technologies that support the mission to identify and protect Zoom IT assets, detect security incidents, and rapidly respond and recover.
• Documents security tools and systems, trains Security Operations staff on tool use, and supports the day to day SecOps staff in the security mission.
• Develops and publishes metrics and dashboards demonstrating effectiveness of the operations security engineering function.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to solve security problems.
• Manages third party security vendors and services used by the team.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person as required by Zoom government clients
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to San Jose or Denver; this is not a “remote” role.
• 8 or more years experience in IT engineering; with at least 5 years experience specifically in a cybersecurity engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in IT Security, Computer Science, or equivalent; or an additional 4 years of relevant IT experience.
• Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge and experience in data, application, systems and network security concepts and the tools used to identify and protect IT assets, detect security events, and respond and recover from security incidents.
• Mid to advanced level Linux knowledge in a physical, virtual or public cloud environment.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate with peers, and to present and explain highly technical information to stakeholders who may have limited technical knowledge.
• Must be available for occasional after-hours tasks.
