UX Manager, Vault Tools

In other words, the tools that help Shopify build... Shopify! Our platform is used every day by thousands of Shopify employees, globally, and plays an important role in the success of the company. We’re looking for a UX Manager to lead the product design team. You’ll own the product experience, creating delightful ways to reinforce cultural values while helping employees focus on what matters. You’ll be hands on contributing to projects, and will advocate for our users in every product decision. You’ll work with leads in other disciplines and the other product designers to improve our practices, and strengthen our experimentation culture.

Responsibilities

• Balancing out team mentoring, hands-on UX work, and leading product experience decisions
• Managing a UX team where you’ll be responsible for stewarding the user experience quality and vision within your area
• Collaborating with product and engineering to deliver the best products
• Advocating for exceptional user experience by representing our users in product strategy and roadmap discussions

Requirements for the role

• You provide teams with long term vision but also enjoy doing work yourself
• You’re comfortable in an environment with quick feedback loops, and a strong experimentation culture
• You’ve managed people before or have a track record of mentorship that points to your ability to help people grow and succeed in their careers
• You have successfully built and maintained relationships with developers and product managers, and can champion the team’s ideas within the organization and beyond
