Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the development of improvements to OneSignal’s dashboard and API. Every day, thousands of clients visit our website and dashboard, and thousands more use our API. Our clients love what we’ve built so far and we can’t wait to make it even better. Your responsibilities will include working closely with our product team and our clients to help build new features and improve our existing ones. You will support engineers primarily programming in Ruby on Rails, Typescript, and React. You will also contribute to improving OneSignal’s API and bare-metal infrastructure alongside our backend development team.
What you'll do:
- Oversee the design and implementation of new solutions to support our growing user base of marketers and developers
- Working closely with our product team to ideate, design, and implement new features for the OneSignal platform
- Support a team of fullstack software engineers, including activities like performance reviews, 1:1s, collaborating on career growth plans
- Evangelizing design patterns, and great development techniques
- Work with our recruiting team to hire and retain top industry experts to help us reach our goals
- Roll up your sleeves to write code when needed; while the ideal candidate will spend a majority of their time supporting the team, we value flexibility and a hands-on attitude
Skills and experience:
- 2+ years management experience and 5+ years industry software engineering experience
- Experience with frontend as well as backend software engineering
- Friendliness and empathy
- Modesty
- Strong technical writer
- Proficiency in written and oral communications
- Love of learning
