Job Description

Reporting into the VP, US Marketing, Mars Wrigley, the Director, Brand Marketing is responsible for the Mars Wrigley Confectionery Fruit Snacks brands in the US market and oversees iconic brands such as Skittles, Starburst, Lifesavers, and more.

The purpose of this role is:

  1. To develop & deploy the strategy for Fruit Snacks, growth engine within the US
  2. Deliver the annual growth targets for the Fruit Snacks business within the US business
  3. Lead a team of 7 direct reports
  4. Lead and guide their Marketing team to outstanding deployment and activation in market

This role has accountability & responsibility for the creation and execution of integrated plans that incorporate all aspects of the Fruit Snack cell strategy. It is important to note however, that this role will NOT be responsible for content e.g. video & digital, or design graphics, as these will be delivered through a dedicated enterprise region content team.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and lead strategy for Fruit Snacks portfolio
  • Deliver innovation & renovation plans that reflect the current & future growth potential of the Fruit Snacks portfolio
  • Lead development of annual Fruit Snacks portfolio plan
  • Track and measure total performance across US
  • P&L general management leadership of a cross-functional team to deliver the annual volume, share and financial objectives agreed by the business
  • Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures appropriate to the day-to-day marketing and cross-functional business operations.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team to drive the Mars culture, goals and objectives through the organization. Own and enhance associate engagement within the Marketing function.

Job Qualifications:

  • Business degree qualified
  • 10+ years experience in strategy and/or marketing management
  • Affinity / experience of leading teams within one demand environment, with focus on flawless execution
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Strategic and hands-on business-builder who has broad experience managing in a marketing-driven organization with total Enterprise understanding.
  • 5 years experience in traditional consumer packaged goods environment, with operational leadership of multiple brands, segments or categories (ideally in a food or beverage company).
  • P&L leadership and demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of Brands.
  • Demonstrated success in organizing and leading a dedicated cross-functional teams.
  • Led new Product Launches as Brand Manager / Marketing Director.
  • Developed Business Plans/Marketing Plans for ongoing businesses.
  • BA/BS in Marketing or Business Administration
