Responsibilities

The Technical Learning & Development Leader will be responsible for leading Technical Learning Initiatives at the Covington Manufacturing Plant. The Leader will partner closely with Technicians, and site leaders to create technical training that supports the site’s current training needs as wells the future state Technician Work System. This position will also lead our Technician Team Leader onboarding program and serve as a single point of ownership for the phased development of that group and will be responsible for driving technically strong floor leadership and working with Platform Leads to provide coaching, and drive accountability within that group.

The Technical Learning & Development Transformation Leader will work collaboratively with the border HR team, and partner closely with a peer Learning & Development Leader to leverage stakeholder input to ensure a smooth transition from current state L&D practices to our future state needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a robust and comprehensive technical training program.
  • Conduct site wide needs analyses to identify technical training gaps and build a strategy to close our gaps quickly.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders and subject-matter experts to deliver learning programs and procure appropriate vendors and technical experts when necessary to supplement Plant resources.
  • Lead the creation of standards and documented processes for each skill across the plant.
  • Lead and manager the Technician Team Leader Onboarding Program, and create sustainable processes for future new leaders
  • Manage and develop two salaried direct reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 years’ experience in project management and/or technical leadership
  • Exceptional organizational ability, process orientation, and bias for action
  • Comfortable and flexible when dealing with ambiguity or changes
  • Proven experience gaining alliance across organizational boundaries

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 yrs. related technical experience in Engineering, Operations Management etc.
  • 1-3 yrs. related experience in Learning & Development, Human Resources and/or Continuous Improvement
  • Awareness of modern learning methods and expertise in using technology, social media to drive learning outcomes
