It is a team composed of analysts, data scientists, economists, mathematicians, statisticians and engineers.

While the analytics group is centralized, we heavily partner with our stakeholders to ensure insights delivered are directly usable for decision making and ultimately adds value to Chegg.

The role:
We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and analytical individual to lead Analytics efforts for the Writing Tools team to help stakeholders understand and build better predictability around business and product performance. The Writing Tools team is responsible for serving the needs of students in the Writing space across multiple websites and product offerings we have. As we look to figure out the best way to serve our students, this individual will be instrumental in helping stakeholders understand performance as well as proactively highlight challenges and opportunities that exist within this space.

An ideal candidate is one who has a keen interest in understanding the big picture of how product changes can impact business performance and has the curiosity to go after the most difficult questions in a simple and productive manner. You will partner heavily with analysts, data scientists and other data groups to solve cross-BU/cross-functional questions. In this role, you will partner with and have visibility into other business units and business functions at Chegg.
Responsibilities:

• Core analytics: provide ongoing insights on acquisition, engagement, retention and cross-sell performance.
• Build forecast models and own inputs into business and revenue forecasts.
• Conduct and present ad-hoc analyses/models to inform roadmap decisions and investments.
• Partner with product, DS and other analytics teams to ensure we have visibility into all new initiatives and their impact across multiple businesses.
• Build interactive dashboards using data pipelines and visualization tools to monitor KPIs.
• Leverage data to provide insights into user behavior and an extra layer of analysis on top of AB tests.
• Partner with product and engineering to resolve pressing issues.
• Create compelling presentations/analysis summaries to provide actionable recommendations with key insights.
• Experience mentoring and leading team members with a strong interest to grow in the people management space.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field preferred (Business, Econ, Math, Statistics, Engineering, etc) OR
• equivalent training or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of demonstrated success in business/product analytics in a B2C business. Experience with subscription business models preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
• Top-decile data wrangling skills; strength in SQL, R, Python for data analysis, modeling and visualization.
• Google BigQuery expertise
• Analytical toolset including an understanding of statistics (time series analysis, cluster analysis, multivariate analysis).
• Experience with web analytics data and platform needed.
• Experience creating and maintaining dashboards using data visualization tools like Tableau or Domo.
• Self-motivated, independent, organized and proactive, highly responsive, flexible and adaptable when working across multiple teams.
• Passionate about producing high-quality analytics deliverables and communicating analyses and recommendations effectively to a broad audience.
• Ability to prioritize and deliver within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
