Job summary

The Red Hat Global Sales Operations team is looking for a Business Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role you will work with global and regional functional teams to understand business needs and analyze, validate and document the business and system requirements that address these needs, and ensure the software solutions developed meet the needs of the business. You will assist with the design and changes to processes that will be used to implement the business transformation solutions. This is accomplished through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business processes and systems. The position requires working knowledge of sales processes like opportunity to order), sales systems for customer relationship management (CRM) like Salesforce.com (SFDC), Apttus and Renewal Lifecycle Management.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Define and draft project scope and objectives and translate associated business requirements into design specifications ensuring that requirements are effectively met, tested and implemented
  • Research systems, processes, procedures, and workflow needs and identify ways to capture, validate and integrate information to improve overall business process performance
  • Identify and resolve gaps between new and existing business processes and applications and facilitate implementation of new business processes and modifications
  • Liaise between the development and business teams to agree on user requirement scope
  • Conduct business impact analysis and assess change readiness
  • Analyze data related to business programs and systems and create basic reporting and metrics
  • Supports in writing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts
  • Coordinate UAT activities across multiple business and technical teams
  • Provide administrative support to the Global Business Programs team and management of support requests

Required skills

  • 5+ years experience working as a business analyst with commercial experience with a vendor, reseller, or distributor in sales operations, supporting sales tools such as SFDC, Big Machines, and Apttus
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
  • Experience working with international teams and cross functions
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way
  • Experience in software validation and deployment; documenting user requirements and test execution
  • Knowledge of common programming languages, operating systems, database and web technologies
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to innovate
  • Good understanding of business process management
  • Working knowledge of sales methods and experience in delivering improvement in a Sales environment
  • Ability to provide training and software demonstrations as needed
  • Experience evaluating data, working with reporting tools, and reviewing SQL is a plus
