The Centralized Scheduler position is responsible for pre-registering and scheduling patient appointments for assigned services to the appropriate location with appropriate providers. This is done by handling inbound and outbound calls for orthopedic services with the Institute for Athletic Medicine, Fairview Hand Centers, Fairview Sports and Orthopedic Care physicians. Help callers by redirecting calls to appropriate area for services not provided in Centralized Scheduling. Receives requests for information and insures that material is distributed in a timely manner. Schedules, registers and pre-authorizes insurance for all patients in area assigned.
Quickly answer inbound calls, as well as make necessary outbound calls, in a professional and respectful manner to help patients and all callers accomplish their need.
Schedule and register patients for their therapy or physician appointment within the orthopedic departments we serve.
Correctly review order for treatment and help patient get scheduled in a timely and effective manner.
Efficiently documenting call notes, requests.
Attaching orders to visits scheduled within the patient chart for visits scheduled.
Excellent Attendance required
Excellent Customer Service skills
2-3 yrs customer service/call center work preferred
Prior medical scheduling/schooling experience preferred
Ability to work well with others as part of a team to accomplish the work needed.
