Position Summary

The Senior Specialist, Global Talent Management will act as a high-touch HR Business Partner/HR Generalist. This individual will support the Technology and Analytics Group (TAG), including Advanced Analytics, ADAPT and Global Engineering; FRWD; and Bain’s Engine 2 businesses (Baincubator, BIE, RTN) in APAC, from administrative tasks to strategic work. This role will help to develop and drive consistent, effective HR policies and talent management programs across Bain’s business functions.

The Senior Specialist will also collaborate closely with TAG Program Management, with dotted line reporting to Senior Program Manager, to be “on the ground” point person to insure our new talent resources are effectively integrating locally within APAC, that they are having positive employee experiences, and that our office and TAG/FRWD talent processes are effectively operating.

Human Resources:

  • Support Manager, Global Talent Management and coordinate closely with Senior Specialists in providing HR services for Bain’s technology, analytics and digital groups, including Advanced Analytics, ADAPT, FRWD, and others, throughout APAC
  • Be on point for the APAC employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, policy interpretation, risk management and professional development
  • Liaise regularly with internal client line managers, employees, TAG/FRWD program management and local HR team members in offices where assigned employees reside; develop strong and productive working relationships/high levels of communication with key stakeholders; become known as the “go to” person for all areas of talent management for assigned business groups
  • Serve as strategic thought partner to Manager and to department leaders on issues impacting customer group, e.g., defining areas for program or process improvement, organization structure changes, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Global Talent Acquisition Team to identify staffing needs, explore sources for building candidate pipelines, and establish interviewing best practices tailored for each internal customers
  • Develop compensation practices and address compensation issues in collaboration with the global compensation team, including educating line managers and staff on Bain’s compensation philosophy
  • Coordinate with Global Training and collaborate with department leadership teams on employee enrollment in global training programs, including identifying which programs employees are eligible to attend and when they should attend
  • Demonstrate flexibility in supporting assigned internal client groups as business and HR priorities change
  • Apply HR knowledge policies and practices effectively to a wide variety of business groups with differing needs.

Program Management:

  • Provide PD support for TAG employees in the office/region, including onboarding, tricky case situations and promotions
    • Support the integration of new hires, in collaboration with the supervisor, Global/Regional Services HR and the local office
    • Understand NWOW training and programmatic deployment, share employee pulse survey data, review local CTSU and UF
    • Be available to employees across APAC, understanding their PD goals and career ambitions, and provide support/guidance as needed
  • Play a key role in PD processes for TAG team members; actively identify opportunities to improve outcomes
    • Ensure PD and case end review processes run smoothly
    • Provide reviews/feedback data to department operations/talent/staffing roles in AAG, ADAPT and FRWD to assist with staffing decisions
    • Ensure supervisors are regularly investing in/talking about PD with individuals in their lane
    • Support the departments’ ratings calibration and/or promotion processes by collecting input/data from reviewers, pressure testing reviewers’ ratings recommendations and raising concerns with HRBP assigned to the department

· Proactively monitor integration and performance of individuals by keeping in touch with supervisors and mentors. Guide staffing/supervisors on interventions to engage to help individuals inflect performance.

· Ensure that TAG team members attend appropriate trainings; identify local programming which may also be beneficial for them to attend (e.g., product/practice training, client skills training, social events)

· Monitor the morale and attrition risk of individual TAG team members, rallying the appropriate stakeholders to take preventive action.

  • Liaise regularly with other HR Business Partners/HR generalists within the Global Talent Management team to ensure consistency and sharing of best practices

· Participate in project teams by supporting roll-out and repeatability efforts; running reports; and facilitating cross-office/functional coordination

Education
