We're growing and looking to add a Strategic Partner Developer to the Business Development team to focus on expanding our carrier network, especially with target postal operators in high priority international markets. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of the business development cycle: navigating complex organizations to initiate conversations with key stakeholders, creating meaningful relationships and negotiating partnerships that add incremental volume and customers for our carrier partners and for Shippo.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the partnership and deal process for new postal operators, initially focusing on English-language postal operators like Canada Post, Australia Post and Royal Mail. You’ll manage each step from strategy/planning, pipeline development, prospecting, outreach, terms negotiation, contract drafting, and implementation.
- Build relationships with executives at key parcel carriers, and leverage relationships to uncover and pursue growth opportunities.
- Shepherd all completed partnerships through a successful integration, including internal and external coordination, product and engineering prioritization and problem solving.
- Collaborate with partners and Shippo marketing team to execute high impact partner marketing campaigns and develop collateral.
- Create internal and external reports on partner and channel performance. Contribute insightful analysis to improve profitability for partners and Shippo.
- Work with product management and engineering to define partner driven product initiatives that will help expand volume and growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of Business Development experience within a technology company, preferably within the shipping and logistics, eCommerce or 3PL/fulfillment industries.
- Deep, relevant market knowledge and experience in non-US markets. Firsthand experience with international postal operators is preferred.
- A steady problem solver with exceptional relationship management skills.
- Strong negotiating and closing skills in deals involving multiple stakeholders, with the ability to persevere through long and complex deal cycles.
- Experience researching and analyzing new markets and verticals.
- Technically savvy, including experience working with analytics, tracking/attribution, and API integrations.
