Manager - Category Manager/Analyst Snacks & Beverage

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Aramark is seeking a Category Manager/Analyst, Snacks & Beverage, that will help lead category management efforts within Aramark’s Marketing Center of Excellence. This role is responsible for providing thought leadership and direction in category management, growth planning, and strategy development of Snacks & Beverage. The role requires frequent contact with internal and external partners. The ability to communicate effectively to drive strategic alignment and secure cross-functional commitment to key initiatives is critical. This role will lead the identification of retail opportunities and drive alignment across marketing, operations and supply chain management functions to drive incremental revenue growth for Aramark. The person in this role will also drive continuous improvement of our category management tools and processes to meet the needs of our internal and external partners.

Specific Responsibilities

Category Planning & Analysis

  • Support the development of the Enterprise Category strategy to achieve sustainable long-term revenue, margin and other volume growth targets in line with the overall business strategy
  • Support the development of the annual category plan, including targets
  • Utilize both industry and competitive trends to analyze sales and purchase data, and establish benchmarks for making key category decisions
  • Drive deeper channel, customer, and shopper/consumer knowledge into the planning process
  • Assess the item assortment, recommend adjustments to drive optimal category performance and build planograms to implement product changes for channel execution
  • Build beneficial long term supplier partner relationships through the use of Joint Business Plans and through various engagement activities including location visits, meetings etc.
  • Drive alignment across lines of business teams to support and capture growth opportunities
  • Assist in the development of appropriate operating processes, systems and procedures to ensure sustainable and consistent delivery of high quality, repeatable outputs and business results
  • Develop the KPI tracking tools and processes necessary to monitor key metrics and analyze data to provide insights and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and reporting, utilizing all available data resources; develop and execute score carding and valuation, to evaluate impact of implementation of key Pricing, Assortment and Promotion initiatives
  • Provide insights and recommendations by synthesizing data from a multitude of sources on customer, channel, and category strategy. Recommend actionable solutions based on a clear understanding of the analysis.

Promotional Strategy Development

  • Develop Promotional Plan for the Enterprise including the planning tools and processes to support Retail promotions development across the enterprise, including creating pre and post-promotional analytics process
  • Provide thought leadership to drive new and continuously improving promotional planning processes and strategic category planning

Competitive Intelligence

  • Communicate competitive manufacturer/customer trade information to all functions
  • Incorporate competitive intelligence into strategies and tactical plans
  • Leverage data, analytical and planning tools for maximum benefit (Syndicated data, IRI/ Nielsen, Spectra, Technomics, Mintel and Data Monitor)
  • May perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate/graduate program at a college or university
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills are required.
  • Must work well in both team and individualized tasks.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Aramark for this position now or in the future.
  • Availability to work 15+ hours per week
