Role Summary:

EEDP EID (Early Identification) Program is GE’s Internship Program designed to identify high-potential engineering students early in their academic career as possible candidates for GE Edison program (EEDP) or direct hiring.
The EID Internship Program offers students the opportunity to experience a real-life work environment at GE, developing the professional skills critical to a successful career, and a fast-track to the EEDP enrollment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP)
Edison Engineering Development Program is a pipeline of technical talent to GE’s technology teams, by hiring the best and brightest technology graduates and then introducing them to engineering challenges, opportunities and training, creating the next generation of engineering talents to solve the world’s toughest problems of tomorrow.
The two-year program for graduate students provides
1) Three challenging technical rotations in different engineering sub-sections across entire engine lifecycle (design, manufacturing, system, program, service, analytics, etc.) to deliver business impact; Choice and options in selection of rotations and off-boarding positions in Aviation China Engineering team;
2) Systematic technical training to form solid engineering foundation: 30+ courses covering engine core, material and manufacturing, data analytics, digital, LEAN, SixSigma, etc.;
3) Well-structured leadership training provided by GE Crotonville to build essential leadership skills in international company;
4) Technical mentoring and career coaching from well-established technologists;
5) Exposure to culture difference in Global Edison Community;
6) Visibility to senior leadership team in business.
The three-year program for undergraduate students provides
1) Two-year program content aforementioned (3 technical rotations, trainings, coaching and mentoring and etc.);
2) One-year full-time academy education to pursue a Master of Science degree in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with full tuition sponsorship;
3) Choice and options in selection of rotations and off-boarding positions in Aviation China Engineering team.
Edison Engineering Development Program - Early Identification (EEDP-EID)
The internship assignment offers:
• Challenging technical assignments in Aviation Engineering team to demonstrate your technical expertise, project management skill and leadership potential;
• Working experience in international company;
• Career coaching & mentoring from seasoned team leaders and technologists;
• Exposure to senior leadership team in business;
• Opportunity to EEDP direct hiring.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Complete a 2+ months full-time technical assignment in engineering function;
• Deliver project results meeting the evaluation criteria in the assignment team;
• Complete required internship trainings defined in the program;
• Strictly follow internal policy and GE compliance standard.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Undergraduate student or post graduate student pursuing Master degree, who will graduate in year 2021;
• Major in jet engine, mechanical, aerospace and aeronautical engineering, gas turbine, control & automation, material, and other related engineering majors;
• Demonstrated Academic excellence with a minimum GPA requirement (3.0/4.0);
• Passion for engineering with strong technical attitude, innovation spirit, and an analytical approach to problem solving;
• Strong commitment to a career in technology;
• Self-motivated, self-confident team play with mature & positive attitude and fast learning ability;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin.
