MORE ABOUT THIS JOB

Accelerate is a firmwide initiative to foster innovation and collaboration across divisions, with a focus on the firm’s future growth. The projects we fund will focus on building brand new business ideas for GS, while offering employees the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up like environment.

All of the ideas and businesses in which we are investing have key technical components to explore and develop. As such, Accelerate is focused on creating a dynamic, flexible environment that can rapidly create and deliver new products for our businesses. Many of these projects are either to deliver proofs-of-concepts or minimum viable products in exciting greenfield environments, while others are expanding current strategic platforms to integrate with one another in new, client-focused ways.

The Scribe team is building a digital backbone to transform tools for the alternatives industry. We are looking for a talented and passionate product designer who thrives in an entrepreneurial and fast paced environment. This is a high visibility role, backed by some of the senior-most leaders of the firm, and as such, will require creativity and drive to deliver on an ambitious roadmap.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of design for your projects from inception through launch
  • Contribute to product strategy by identifying new opportunities, designing innovative solutions, and improving existing features
  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes
  • Leverage large and complex data sets to design data-driven analytics tooling and insights
  • Multi-institution workflows
  • Partner closely with engineering, product, and business to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges.
  • Listening to users to develop the right product strategy and solutions
  • Work closely with the head of design of GS Accelerate (high level direction and mentorship)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience as a product designer
  • A portfolio of strong design work
  • Cross-platform experience (Desktop and Mobile Web, Android, iOS)
  • Deep understanding of data visualization
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketch, Figma, and Framer
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly explain your creative process in how you approach problems and provide solutions
  • Enthusiasm for an iterative design process
  • Work well under pressure in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently

Why GS Accelerate:

  • Unparalleled responsibility and career opportunity to make a highly visible global impact
  • Mentorship through GS’s network of designers and product engineers
  • Opportunity to work in a start-up-like environment, while enjoying a safety of an established company
  • You will be part of a large community of like-minded technologists in a flat organization with a culture that promotes collaboration, “can do” mindsets and teamwork
  • Forge strong relationships with our clients across all of our businesses, as well as other technology teams to develop and enhance our systems and processes
  • Develop solutions that directly impact the bottom line by enabling new investment opportunities for our business partners
  • Opportunity to work on unprecedented projects both at Goldman Sachs & more broadly in the financial services industry
