Cohesity are growing our Cork office and are looking for additional Site Reliability Engineers to join our expanding talented team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for deployment, maintenance and operations on Cohesity clusters deployed worldwide.

Develop scripts and framework for automating repetitive tasks.

Debug issues with backups on databases like Oracle, SQL server and SAP HANA.

Debug configuration issues on the customer environments that pertain to database backups.

Work on issues related to Oracle RMAN and SQL server backup scripts.

Work on issues with Microsoft VSS and SQL server VDI that are used for database backups.

Work on backing up and restoring clustered DB environments like Microsoft Failover clustering, Microsoft AAG and Oracle RAC.

Provide support on Cohesity clusters deployed On-prem and cloud platforms.

Write scripts using bash or python for log capture and analysis on large clusters.

Proactively monitor and manage the availability of clusters and associated applications.

Provide support for issues pertaining to Powershell cmdlets and RESTful APIs and provide scripts for automating tasks on Cohesity Data Platform.

Working knowledge of NAS (SMB /CIFS), experience in Isilon/VNX file services or Netapp

DB experience, with knowledge of SQL and/or Oracle, or experience with modern DBs Immanis/MongoDB etc

Knowledge of Cloud products. AWS/Azure/GC or AWS compatible devices (Minio)

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Masters degree with 2+ years experience specializing in storage, networking or virtualization.

Experience with Python, bash or Powershell.

Deep understanding of database deployments and how data is backed up and archived.

Expertise on database backups and recoveries on Microsoft SQL server, Oracle or SAP HANA.

Experience in database clustering like Microsoft Failover clustering, Microsoft AAG and Oracle RAC.

Experience writing scripts for backing up and restoring databases using Oracle RMAN and SQL server scripting.

Experience with data interfaces like VDI and VSS.

Ability to analyze system diagnostics and clearly articulate issues.

Good understanding of Linux debugging utilities, with an emphasis on systemtap, tcpdump ftrace, strace, wireshark, gdb, and crash

Experience with remote file access protocols, including NFS, SMB (CIFS)

Working experience of data protection applications (e.g,, CommVault, Symantec and Veeam)

Advantageous:

German Language skills

Experience working with a distributed file system

Experience with Big data technologies is a big plus.

Experience with clustering.

Expertise on Linux or Windows Operating systems.

Experience debugging complex, serialized, multi-threaded code
