This position is for the Director, Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). This position is for an individual who has background in security and specific experience in GSOC operations. This position has high visibility and is directly accountable for effective and efficient leadership of the GSOC, and its teams of strategic intelligence analysts, and security and intelligence operators. This Director will bring extensive leadership experience and will provide major input to the development of the annual plan, and providing training, coaching and supervision to internal staff. The position will be responsible for global consistency in developing and defining the Mission, Purpose & Measurable Success Criteria as well as leading in the development of strategic PayPal Inc. Safety & Security goals, objectives and leading by example via the company shared commitments and behaviors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely communications and actionable intelligence is provided to support the protection of people, assets, and infrastructure
- Develop and expand procedures and protocols, enabling timely and effective responses to and management of incidents, alarms, notifications, calls and other activities related to the GSOC and its role as a central alarm monitoring station
- Ensure relationship alignment between PayPal’s Global Safety & Security, Facilities, HR, Communications and other key Functional Areas which represent core stakeholders of PayPal’s Global Security Program
- Direct the GSOC and its functions as the Global Safety & Security’s hub for the monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of risks and threats that may affect the company globally
- Provide guidance on the design, development, assessment, and effectiveness of company security policies.
- Promote continued awareness of the Global Security Operations Center though ongoing stakeholder training
- Work with key stakeholders to run and manage clear planning processes and process improvement
- Oversee and guide the activities and performance of outsourced GSOC personnel
- Provide leadership to ensure effective incident management of critical incidents
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years professional experience and a demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing responsibility in global security operations field.
- Ability to innovate, drive change and influence for alignment through a wide range of internal stakeholders
- Highly organized and able to drive strategic direction into tactical execution
- Ability to hire, develop and lead a team that is geographically dispersed
- Experience leading a team of both staff and contract resources toward common goals
- Able to translate high-level direction and ideas into specific plans and actions
- A self-starter who uses extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Strong communication skills and organization skills. Collaborates with and achieves actionable results through others
- Able to manage others through influence to effectively achieve outcomes
- Builds rapport, strong and sustainable relationships and interacts within all levels of the organization
- Relationship-building skills to collaborate with internal subject-matter experts and external customers
