Rockstar New York is seeking a Senior UX Data Analyst to join our Digital Design team and help build Rockstar’s online experience. This includes data tracking and analysis practice, while translating resulting stats into insights to help inform out digital design solutions. Successful candidates will work with analytics, marketing, and design leadership to assure that the most relevant possible real-time and historical data is identified, tracked, analyzed, and made actionable across all our digital properties. This role is integral to the continued progression and development of our digital practices and products.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in our NoHo NYC office.

WHAT WE DO

  • Our digital UI/UX designers work within the Art and Marketing teams, focusing on web, app and digital marketing designs that reflect the high visual and experience standards set throughout the company.
  • We work very closely with teams across all of publishing, as well as our development studios worldwide.
  • Our digital experiences are often the first thing people see on any Rockstar game and we take great pride in creating and ensuring exceptional user experience for this unique and iconic brand.
  • We are lovers of culture and creativity across all forms of media and our work gives Rockstar’s products their unique look and feel from stickers and special edition packaging to giant billboards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with designers, developers, and producers to make key product decisions that address our online user needs.
  • Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences, including customers, partners, and the business.
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through field visits, usability studies, diary studies, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, and online experiments (A/B testing), and subsequently produce generative research that uncovers opportunities.
  • Generate a holistic understanding of the customer and partner experience on our digital marketing properties across markets, including domestic and international markets.
  • Identify localized opportunities and differences within the product experience across various markets.
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative user data to inform key product decisions that address user needs.
  • Manage the UX research roadmap and prioritize resourcing.
  • Work with Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other UXRs to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements alongside implications on our digital experiences.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports, in-person presentations, and initial ideas based on user research.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
  • Experience in survey design.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and data infographic design.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  • A demonstrated track record of managing time effectively with a high degree of self-sufficiency.
  • Ability to provide work samples focused on UX research and testing.

SKILLS

  • You’re comfortable operating in a fast-moving, fluid startup environment.
  • You demonstrate ownership from a user-centric perspective and constantly push toward clarity and successful delivery.
  • You’re a strong collaborator and capable of defining prioritization across a number of tasks and projects.
  • You have strong written and oral communication skills, with experience facilitating broader discussions and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • You’re a team player who is ready and willing to provide support where it drives the greatest impact for the company.

PLUSES

  • Degree in Human/Computer Interaction or Psychology, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with remote and in-person user testing methodologies.
  • Experience with gathering insights from Google Analytics.
