Intern, Price Audit

Reporting to the Director, Internal Audit, the Intern, Price Audit will assist with the completion of Regional Food and Non Food Audits. The Intern will assist the department to ensure that distributors and vendors comply with Avendra procurement contracts, charge accurate prices, apply appropriate markups to customer invoices, and issue accurate credits for pricing errors. This position provides an excellent environment to demonstrate and expand analytical skills while exposing the Intern to many aspects of Avendra’s operations. Price Audit is a high-visibility, high-impact department working with all aspects of the Avendra supply chain and a key department working to enforce Avendra’s value proposition.

Responsibilities (may include any of the following)

  • Assist with audit documentation and reporting of findings
  • Perform audit test work as directed by management
  • Communicate or assist in communicating the results of audits, analyses and projects via written reports and oral presentations to vendors and Avendra management.
  • Assist with developing Avendra’s automated tools for performing pricing verifications, which includes the design of sampling methodologies and using MS Access and Excel as well as other software where appropriate.
  • Assist in special projects, investigations or other issues that may affect the Compliance Audit, Internal Audit, Finance and Procurement areas.

Role Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to organize and execute work with minimal supervision
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Experience with managing and analyzing large amounts of data a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Access, Excel and Word

Education Requirements

  • Completing study towards a BS/BA or MBA in Finance, Accounting, other analytical degree

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years’ experience with data mining, reporting, and analysis preferred.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience or knowledge of MS Access, a plus but not required.
  • Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills, both analytical and conceptual.
  • Ability to translate raw data and analytical results into clear written and verbal communication to internal stakeholders
  • Ability to be a part of multiple projects and initiatives of varying size and complexity, while meeting conflicting deadlines in a diverse challenging environment.
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, and presentation, plus the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and behavior styles.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize time and projects in an efficient manner.
  • Anticipate clients’ needs, operate with a sense of urgency, and have the ability to adapt to changes quickly.
