Senior iOS Developer

Job Description

Shopify is the world’s fastest growing commerce platform, with no plans to slow down. We are looking for a senior iOS developer excited to build, localise and scale our mobile offering. To do this, we need the help of a dedicated, curious and versatile developer to join our dynamic RnD team in our Berlin office - does this sound like it could be you? Our growing Berlin team is focused on bringing our Retail software to Europe! With many of our merchants based in Europe, this is an exciting opportunity to solve problems and have an impact in localising our robust platform within Europe. You will work closely with the software engineering team, designers and product managers to create, build and grow our platform. You’ll experience the benefits of working in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts, while leveraging the resources of Shopify. The tools you will use include: Swift, TypeScript, GraphQL.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with other disciplines across Engineering, UX, and Product
• Advocate for great UX
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Learn the latest technologies and standards to ensure we are always using the best tools and techniques possible
• Influence product decisions and designs

Relevant experience for the role:

• Working on a diverse team
• Developing production quality iOS application using Swift
• Knowledge of iOS standards in UX / UI, trends, and emerging technologies
• Curiosity and a desire to learn new things
• Providing highly effective code reviews and peer support
• Doing performance optimisations on complex client-side applications
• Strong communication skills as you will be collaborating with various teams in Shopify offices around the world.
