Your challenge

Overlook the Product Platforms in Philips and assure that the right architectural choices are being made, make trades off between Hardware and Software and the creation of future proof modules and platforms.Work closely together with the architecture of the Chief Architects Office as well as the Product Platform organization(s) on Epics and the definition of the HealthSuite Reference Architecture.

Identify and drive new platform initiatives, based on a deep and broad understanding of Philips products.

Your responsibilities

• Driving harmonization and modular design of product architecture, product family platforms and technology choices, compliant with the overall HealthSuite Reference Architecture and leveraging common platforms and technology choices.
• Defining the scope and challenges with partners and identifying key issues.
• Delivering a consolidated (reference) architecture: creating well-defined building blocks / system options & scenarios, choosing the optimal architecture, bringing to bear technology and orchestrate roadmaps
• Ensuring a solid, up-to-date and usable documentation of the architecture; establishing architecture lifecycle management.
• Acting within the entire context (business, organization, roadmaps, external world, overall ecosystem etc.) seeking for convergence, bringing together prior art and internal and external trends, remaining up-to-date with regard to professional knowledge
• Guiding and inspiring others in and outside the architect community

Your team

The Chief Architects Office defines and governs the HealthSuite Reference Architecture for Philips and drives the evolution of platforms that implement the HealthSuite Reference Architecture as well as the Philips product portfolio to adopt the HealthSuite Reference Architecture and its supporting platform

We are looking for

• Master’s Degree and relevant experience in a leading tech-company with 10 plus years of progressive related work experience, preferably in a senior architect role in a product engineering context, preferably in a healthcare company.
• Proven teamwork, including ability to work effectively across organizational and geographic boundaries, building bridges between teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading and influencing development teams in a global, multi-location organization.
• Architecture skills based on high quality delivery of solutions that include software and hardware.
• Excellent communication skills and proven track record for developing high-trust relationships, including during times of escalations.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Multiyear experience covering multiple domains, complex systems (e.g. distributed systems), and multiple technology areas.
• Ability to shape direction and deal with uncertainties.
• If selected you will be taking on a variety of topics such as: Embedded compute OS & hardware, connectivity chips/firmware, motion controllers, battery packs, cooling systems and local (real-time) product communication networks while taking covering aspects like form factor, supply chains, variants, manufacturing, EMC, power usage, life cycle cost.
