About this opportunity

The Sr. Manager, Practice Optimization is responsible for driving commercialization and performance for strategic imperatives, tactics and growth-led business transformation both internally and within partner organizations. The Sr. Mgr. Practice Optimization is the leader and facilitator of cross-product, cross-functional and cross-regional communication and alignment of key initiatives within the Practice Optimization Consulting team. They will also enable the POC team to driving innovation, commercialization of the ADAPT program by driving strategy and prioritizing resource optimization. The Sr. Manager of Practice Optimization will also work to ensure the POC team is working with their respective Sales Team to implement Invisalign in targeted accounts and position Align as a complete, innovative solution for their Orthodontic and Digital Impression needs.

The Sr. Manager of Practice Optimization will oversee the following areas of focus amongst the POC team including the optimizing resources and efficiency, development of systems and processes, increasing profitability and further developing office culture to drive practice growth, ultimately leading to top line revenue growth for Align. The Practice Optimization Consultant will need to have the ability and willingness to travel, including overnight, 35-50% of the time with occasional weekends.

In this role, you will...

Demonstrates Leadership/Collaborates with others - Works closely with the Director of Practice Optimization, Area Sales Directors and cross-functional teams to execute on the commercialization strategy of the ADAPT by Align program. Provide corporate selling consultation and coaching to Practice Optimization Consultants and Analyst on ADAPT accounts and when appropriate acts as liaison between key customer contacts and other functions in the organization including Marketing, Customer Service, and Commercial groups in order to build and improve customer relationships.

Demonstrates Team Building and Management Skills - Optimizes the activities of the Practice Optimization Teams and work with other divisions of Align to ensure alignment with core business strategies:

  • Lead cross-functional and cross-regional strategic initiatives (innovation, capabilities evolution, prioritization and resource optimization, execution strategies, goal setting, launch planning and portfolio management)
  • Partner with product development teams from iTero and Invisalign to ensure Practice Optimization interests are prioritized accordingly during long-term planning.
  • Share learnings and resources developed within the Business Innovation team with broader Align sales, marketing and training departments.

Develop and execute onboarding plans for Practice Optimization Consultants and Analyst. Strategize with Practice Optimization leadership on training and resource needs. Create and execute on-site training week for POC Team, obtain feedback from participants for adjustments to be made as necessary.

Practice Optimization – Oversees the performance and delivery of deep analyses of practices and customer behaviors to ensure implemented optimization solutions enable each ADAPT by Align customer to grow and scale. Areas of analysis include but are not limited to; cash flow, KPIs, profitability, operational efficiency, and customer experience and marketing and referral programs. These assessments and associated recommendations address all aspects of the Orthodontic organization, including culture, people, and process, technology and performance metrics. Willingness to challenge SOPs and current business model will be critical to success. Will also be responsible for overseeing the identification of potential candidates for the practice optimization program and ensuring that he/she has a healthy pipeline of customers to onboard.

Builds High-Level Strategic Customer Relationships – Build customer loyalty and multiple relationships within the highest levels of key functional areas in customer organizations; identify strategic business opportunities within the Practice Optimization Program; establish effective relationships with key customer representatives and employees externally and internally. He/she will put a high priority on both customer and Company interests when making decisions; lead by example and respond quickly and competently to customer issues; continually search for ways to improve competitive advantage.

Drives Practice Growth and Invisalign Utilization – Manages the Practice Optimization team to ensure they are working diligence and directly with sales and customer to support the orthodontic practice to grow their Invisalign clear aligner case starts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree and 4 years of project management experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of project management experience
  • Leadership experience in a dental/orthodontic environment strongly preferred
  • LEAN or Six Sigma certified a plus
  • Strong skills in developing a business case and knowledge of the financial impact of proposed initiatives on the client's Profit and Loss statement
  • Strong facilitation skills and change management experience
  • Ability to articulate trends, client challenges, leading solutions and best practices
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to senior level client executives (E - and C-Level)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

WORK SCHEDULE / HOURS

  • Travel (~35-50% of time)
