Overview

Fairview Health Services is looking for a Nursing Station Technician (NST) for the Outpatient Observation Medical Surgical Unit at Fairview Ridges Hospital (Burnsville, MN) to work under direction of nursing personnel to provide patient care while functioning as a nursing assistant and as a health unit coordinator.

About this position:

• This position is working on the night shift (11 pm to 7:30 am) which includes $1.00/hour shift differential
• 8 hour shifts
• Every other weekend rotation (F,S,S)
• 64 hours every two weeks, with opportunity to pick up extra shifts.

Responsibilities/Job Description

Work under direction of nursing personnel to provide patient care while functioning as a nursing assistant and as a health unit coordinator. Duties may include: patient cares, vitals, bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, care of environment (by stocking, cleaning, and maintaining rooms) and use of equipment, phones, clerical, transcription, and coordinate the flow of communication on the unit. May work as a patient care attendant.

Qualifications

Required

• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position (exception: M Health Fairview West Bank Nursing Assistants) orCurrent enrollment in an RN program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
