Job summary
The Red Hat North America Public Sector Consulting team is looking for a Secure Infrastructure Lead to join us Washington, D.C. In this role, you will help find, guide, and implement the best technology solutions for our government clients, focusing on guiding security practices for cloud-based infrastructure for them. You’ll work closely with business and technical stakeholders to select and help implement security controls as outlined within National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800 series and agency guidelines. Additionally, you will advise on the design and development of secure systems architecture and industry best practices and information systems technologies available to meet security requirements. While working collaboratively within integrated, cross-functional teams, you’ll focus on delivering comprehensive strategies that enable applications on cloud infrastructure transformations. Teamwork is crucial as teams are composed of a diverse group of specialists across multiple disciplines from both within our consulting practice and from our clients, helping guide towards a successful outcome. As a Secure Infrastructure Lead, you will be expected to own and deliver respective deliverables while managing different clients and other stakeholders. You will join a Red Hat team of subject matter experts who co-create innovative software solutions using emerging technology and modern software design methods. You will be responsible for teaming with customers and partners to accelerate their application development projects or infrastructure deployment and to teach them new ways of working together to deliver business value and new capabilities. As you do so, you will create infectious enthusiasm for building great software using principles of open source culture.
Primary job responsibilities
- Develop and manage a high performing team of subject matter experts in the Secure Infrastructure team
- Develop quality relationships and trusted adviser status with key business stakeholders to guide customer adoption both internally and with strategic customers
- Develop an understanding of customer business issues; strategize and create implementation plans for delivering secure cloud infrastructures to customers in support of workloads
- Serve as a point of contact between Emerging Technology Practice (ETP), Business, Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE), and Engineering teams
- Develops and supplement multi-year roadmaps focused on digital transformation
- Showcase superb whiteboarding and communication skills
- Condense complex design requirements in statement-of-work and approach documents
- Connect technical requirements to business requirements in scoping, discovery session, etc.
- Support technical escalation for all customers, programs, and sub-regions
- Contribute to and present on Red Hat’s secure infrastructure strategy and offerings
- Support and develop account strategies in partnership with the Sales Specialist team that sells and delivers secure infrastructure capabilities to customers
- Collaborate with Red Hat Services business functions to develop future capabilities to deliver solutions on our technologies
- Maintain cross-functional team alignment, motivation, and good morale in situations of ambiguity and high stress
- Innovate on our current thinking and developing new approaches to continue to innovate on how Red Hat delivers software and systems to customers
- Collaborate and coordinate with customers, sales, and delivery resources to ensure the best customer experience
- Provide career guidance, enablement, and support to other Red Hat team members
- Manage the business functions like utilization, forecasting, capacity planning, etc. as it relates to your teams resources
Required skills
- 12+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience with proven ability to build relationships with senior business and technology leaders
- Experience managing moderate-sized (7-15) teams
- Comfortable presenting and delivering to both internal and external senior leaders
- 7+ years of experience leading teams implementing and maintaining complex and innovative infrastructures like cloud infrastructures
- Working knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Ongoing Authorization
- Knowledge of federal security regulations, standards, and processes including Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), NIST, and FedRAMP
- Experience interpreting IT vulnerability scanning results, e.g., Nessus
- Senior leader with years of experience leading technical teams, scoping opportunities, and coordinating resources for the delivery of projects
- Ability and experience in the following areas: quantifying the business value of cloud, evaluating the organizational impact of cloud adoption, defining cloud architectural principles, and articulating key security considerations for public cloud moves
- Experience developing business case and TCO analysis drawing tangible connections between cloud strategy and business-valued financial-success metrics
- Understanding of emerging technologies and end-user needs
- Direct working experience in people management through managing a team, including a successful record in talent development within the team
- Ability to understand the technical impact of projects from supportability, scalability, and repeatability aspects, as well as the business impact on both Red Hat and customers in delivering and scoping projects
- Proven record of customer excellence by maintaining a high level of integrity to ensure both short and long-term customer success
- Bachelor's degree
- Travel up to 50%
- Ability to work with a multi-location team
The following are considered a plus:
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Experience working with or knowledge of OpenShift
- 7+ years of experience working in an information system security role
- Certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
