Responsibilities

We are seeking a Managing Director Assistant for Bernstein Private Wealth Management, a unit of AB. The MDA will work in a dynamic, trust-based partnership with the Managing Director to serve a broad range of external and internal clients’ needs while using considerable independent thought, judgment, and discretion to meet those needs. As a liaison between Financial Advisors, other internal contacts, as well as external clients, the MDA plays a vital role in our business. Duties are complex and confidential requiring the highest level of discretion and independent judgment

  • Assisting in ad-hoc reports special projects as needed often requiring independent discretion and follow-up
  • Scheduling meetings, appointments and travel plans to effectively and accurately manage the calendar
  • Coordinating complex, senior-level internal/external meetings and conference calls
  • Handling a high volume of phone calls from external clients as well as internal contacts
  • Providing general administrative duties including writing and editing correspondence, database maintenance, reconciling monthly expenses, filing, scheduling, faxing, and management reporting in a timely manner
  • Working directly with clients in all aspects of client servicing
  • Preparing presentations and reports for management, clients or prospects
  • Taking part in a team environment working toward a common goal of providing exceptional client service
  • Approximate Hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Flexibility to work overtime as workload demands change
  • Total compensation is competitive and comprised of base salary plus overtime and discretionary bonus

Initial training is primarily on-the-job, focusing on AB Private Wealth solutions, content, processes and systems. Continuing education is designed to enhance job performance and improve knowledge of broad market issues, industry and economic trends, as well as enhanced knowledge of our services.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a coordinator, administrative or executive support in a corporate or professional office with experience working alongside high-level professionals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for frequent internal and external interaction
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks and projects in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-starter with excellent anticipation skills, problem-solving, and follow-up
  • Attention to detail, ensuring reports, books and other client-facing materials are accurate
  • Effective interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to a variety of personalities
  • Creativity & ingenious approach to uncommon questions or tasks
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and flexibility to change focus quickly as demands change
  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
