Job Description

Role Summary:

The Lead Development Quality Assurance (DQA) Engineer is responsible for Design Controls & Risk Management for new product introduction. In this role, you will utilize an understanding of regulatory, industry, and internal requirements to conduct independent assessments of engineering compliance to ensure fulfillment of same, ensuring products are capable, robust, and meet all applicable requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Quality assurance duties will include Quality Planning, Design Controls, Risk Management, Process Management Change Control, Requirements Management, and Traceability Management
  • Ensure regulatory, procedural, and contractual requirements are fulfilled during product development / introduction phases
  • Establish and execute project quality plan, witness-points, and quality records for compliance
  • Ensure Lessons Learned are taken into account for new proposals and programs
  • Work for continuous improvement in processes and execution
  • Identify needs / causes, present analysis of research, develop and communicate potential resolutions
  • Monitor procedures to ensure process conformity
  • Deliver quality products as part of a multi-functional team
  • Generate, conduct, and complete internal FAIs in accordance with AS9102 and internal procedures
  • Perform pre-test (conformity) setup inspections on commercial & military programs
  • Perform qualification test witnessing and data/report reviews to ensure process conformity

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience within a Quality or Engineering position
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
  • Ability and willingness to meet required travel expectations: up to 40%
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

  • Desired Characteristics:

    • Strong convictions regarding quality, safety, and processes; tempered with flexibility to meet needs without compromising requirements
    • Ability to influence others leading small teams and initiatives
    • Proven analytical and organizational ability
    • Experience with development of embedded software or complex airborne electrical systems
    • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
    • Command of engineering development inputs, outputs, interdependencies, and business cases
    • Experience with industry standards AS9100 and AS9145 (APQP)
    • Experience with aerospace regulations and standards pertaining to aviation product development specifically: 14 CFR Part 25, ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254
    • Experience reviewing / generating FAIs in accordance with AS9102
    • Expertise in standard Microsoft Office programs
    • Internal auditor experience
    • Experience with aerospace industry qualification testing
