Overview
Exciting accounting opportunity in a dynamic public software company at our Hungarian subsidiary located in Budapest. The Accountant will report to the sr Finance Manager and be an important member of the finance team as we continue to grow. The position will play a key role in the monthly Close process. This finance professional will thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment and embrace the challenges that come with a company that is growing
Responsibilities
- The part in recording journal entries in General Ledger.
- Responsibility of fixed assets including recording journal entries.
- Work closely with IT department, as well as HR team members to understand business transactions and ensure they are processed, expensed and accounted for accurately and in the proper period.
- Assist to monthly account reconciliations and accruals for various general ledger accounts; prepare journal entries and ensure that the general ledger activity is accurate and complete
- Assist to monthly close
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Hungarian Accounting Standards and Taxation.
- Work on Ad hoc projects for sr Finance Manager and General Director
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency
- Assist to preparing audit schedules and requests for annual audit and quarterly reviews
- Assist to statutory financial statements
- Ensure compliance with the Company's existing SOX and internal control processes and assist with testing
- Take part in headquarter’ s financial team work to achieve common goals
- Prepare Central Statistical Office, Hungarian National Bank reports
- Initiate bank wire in bank system
- Assist in R&D documentation work (once in a year)
- AP financial approval
- Issue intercompany invoices
Qualifications
- At least 2-4 years of accounting experience
- College or University of Finance and Accountancy or Economics
- Thorough knowledge of financial principles and accounting practice
- Resolve complex issues in effective ways working with various teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – oral and written with all levels of employees
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Excellent time management, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, wants to learn and be challenged, self-driven and motivated
- Strong Excel skills
