POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is accountable to manage the Employee Garnishment outsourced process for the US Food & Facility Services area of the business; supporting Payroll Operation and Payroll Financial Reporting.

This position oversees the work performed by the outsourced Garnishment Services team, ensuring the accurate timely processing of all Court Ordered Withholding Documents (Garnishments); from garnishment interpretation and set-up to payment. Researches and resolves related issues, when required.

The incumbent will apply knowledge / skills to a range of activities; handle a variety of work activities at once; proactively act to understand employee, payee and outsource provider needs and identify / implement solutions; Understand and proactively manage the system-to-system hand-offs and reconciliations; Identify process improvements; develop and maintain partnerships with other internal and external stakeholders. The role is responsible for providing leadership to (2) team members who manage the activity around this process.

The objective is to deliver quality work in a timely fashion consistent with established standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform critical analysis of multiple garnishment types, in multi-state environments
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal forms regarding garnishment orders
  • Conduct regular reviews of garnishments to verify accuracy
  • Perform maintenance of all completed and terminated garnishment orders in system
  • Create reports to assist in developing and improving procedures
  • Works closely with garnishment outsource provider, government agencies, legal entities, clients and internal personnel to resolve problems
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding information needs
  • Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results against sources specified in the requirements
  • Strong ethics and ability to keep information confidential
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, outsource provider and agencies

STATUS AND SCOPE:

The position will report directly to the Director – Payroll Operations & Contact Center and is a leadership role.

The incumbent is required to interface with various levels of management, internal and external stakeholders, and external vendors. Understand and align his/her objectives with organizational goals, provide solutions to a diverse range of issues, and build strong internal and external alliances.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • Experience in Payroll Operations – garnishment related
  • 2-4 years of previous leadership experience desired
  • Experience working in a client/customer service environment
  • Proven ability to maintain focus and work effectively with multiple demands
  • Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to recognize procedural issues as they arise, and escalate to the appropriate level
  • Ability to work independently and provide solutions to support the end-to-end process
  • Ability to influence and guide to achieve the best solution
  • Demonstrated learning agility and critical thinking skills and apply basic concepts in new situations
  • Proficient in the latest web technologies and working knowledge of various operating systems
  • Excellent analytical skills and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
